On Monday morning around 1:30am, we headed out to the Arkansas Grand Canyon which can be viewed from Highway 7, south of Jasper, Arkansas. It took us about 2 hours to get there, with a fairly uneventful drive. We did start seeing some clouds form on what was forecast to be a clear night, typical Ozarks. Once we arrived, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. The foreground was still lit by the moon, which was going to set at 4:10am. Temps were a bit chilly, hovering just above freezing, so we made sure to bring some extra blankets while we waited for the duration of the time lapse to finish (after sunrise). After the sun came up, we packed up our gear and headed home. Of course, we did stop in Boxley Valley on the way home to check out the Elk herds grazing in the hay fields.
